The information literacy exercises assessment rubric is designed to accompany exercises from the book Teaching information literacy: 35 practical standards-based exercises for college students (Joanna Burckhardt, Mary MacDonald and Andree Rathemacher). The instrument was developed by Grace Bulaong, Library Director, Dr. Helen Hoch, Biology and Prof. Robert Matthews, Business Administration. The rubric conforms very closely to the ACRL Standards and is published in the Middle States' Developing research and communication skills: Guidelines for information literacy in the curriculum, 2003, Appendix I, p.69-73 and in Peggy Maki's Assessing for learning: Building a sustainable commitment across the institution, 2004, Appendix 5.2, p.138-143.
